- Is the JSON uploaded to a server?
- No. Validation and formatting run in your browser using the native JSON parser.
- Which JSON specification is supported?
- The tool uses the browser's built-in JSON.parse, which implements RFC 8259 JSON. Comments and trailing commas are rejected as they are not part of the standard.
- How are error positions reported?
- The tool reads the line and column from the browser's parse error message. When the message does not include a position, only the error text is shown.
- Does the tool execute any JSON?
- No. JSON.parse only parses; it does not evaluate arbitrary code or attach prototypes.
