Frequently asked questions
- Is my data uploaded?
- No. Decoding happens in your browser using the Web Crypto-compatible atob function and the Blob API.
- Why is SVG rejected?
- SVG can contain scripts and external references. Treating it as active content is unsafe in a decoding tool, so it is intentionally blocked. Use a dedicated vector editor if you need to inspect SVG.
- What if I paste raw Base64 without a data URL?
- The tool reads the magic bytes at the start of the payload to detect PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WEBP and infers the MIME type.
- What is the size limit?
- The decoded payload must be 10 MB or less. Larger payloads are rejected with a clear message.
