Image to Base64 Converter
Convert an image file into a Base64 data URL or raw Base64 string. Everything runs in your browser — no upload, no server.
PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WEBP. Maximum 10 MB. Processing runs locally.
How to use
- Select a PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WEBP image (up to 10 MB).
- Choose whether you want a full data URL or the raw Base64 payload.
- Copy the result, or download it as a text file.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. The file is read locally with the browser's FileReader API and converted in memory.
- What is the difference between a data URL and raw Base64?
- A data URL includes the MIME type and encoding marker (for example, data:image/png;base64,...). Raw Base64 is only the encoded bytes.
- Why do I get a warning about large images?
- Base64 encoding increases size by roughly 33%. Very large images produce very long strings that may be impractical to embed inline.
- Which formats are supported?
- PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WEBP. Other formats are rejected to keep behaviour predictable across browsers.
